About Me

About me? This is about you and your development but since you asked. My name is Pete Swenson, my athletes call me Coach Swen. I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2019 with a sport psychology degree. While at WIU I realized the effects of training and building your mental skill set first hand. I was a 4 year starter at outside linebacker. Unfortunately I didn't take the mental aspect of the game as serious as I should have... Until my senior year, that season I broke the school record in single season sacks (14.5) and career (28.5). I became a second team all-american while being 3rd in the nation in sacks and 1st in the nation in TFLs. This explosion in performance had nothing to do with any physical attributes I gained in one offseason. It had everything to do with me implementing the things I had been learning in class to my own personal training. I was finally able to be at my best when my best was needed. Now that my playing days are done I have fallen in love with coaching and have gone all in on teaching the new generation. Something that is criminally lacking in a lot of programs is the mental training it takes to be at your best when your best is needed. With the pressure of social media, expectations, acceptance of peers, and many more factors, athletes need to be equipped with the skill set to handle it all. My mission is to make this type of training available to anyone and not hide behind a giant paywall. Learn these skills while you are young so the benefits can have a compounding effect.

Alexa Young, FL

“Before working with Coach Swenson, I didn’t realize how much my mindset was holding me back. The strategies we implemented helped me manage pressure, and make clearer decisions. My productivity improved, my stress decreased, and I feel more in control than I ever have.”

Morgan James, FL

“I came to Coach Swen feeling overwhelmed and burned out. Week by week, I learned how to manage anxiety, set meaningful goals, and break old habits. I’m performing better academically, but more importantly, I feel more confident and capable in every part of my life."

Jordan Balke, FL

“My daughter used to get so anxious before games that she wanted to quit the sport she once loved. After working with Pete, she’s learned how to manage pressure and stay calm in high-stakes situations. She smiles before games now, and that alone is priceless."
